The ISOTEC horizontal barrier by paraffin injection
The ISOTEC horizontal barrier is a patented procedure that safely deals with capillary rising damp. Special ISOTEC paraffin is injected into the masonry, forming an effective barrier belt. Three-dimensional moisture transportation is effectively stopped.

ISOTEC special paraffin: safe, healthy and environmentally friendly

Safe, healthy and environmentally friendly
ISOTEC’s special paraffin is a substance similar to wax - very similar to the paraffin which is used in the food industry, which is subject to the strictest requirements. That is why our special paraffin is especially friendly to the environment and can be used in living areas without any concerns. But it is also especially effective: due to its particularly thin-flowing consistency, ISOTEC’s special paraffin can penetrate very well into the fine capillaries of the masonry. After cooling, the paraffin goes hard - like wax - and forms a waterproof barrier about 15 cm thick, which reliably prevents the rising of capillary damp.
100% effectiveness of ISOTEC paraffin injection
ISOTEC’s paraffin injection proves its superior effectiveness in scientific and practical testing. After the liquid paraffin has sealed the fine pores, the masonry can no longer take in any capillary water movement.

At ISOTEC we only use procedures that fulfil our own strict quality guidelines. Prof. Dr. Dreyer from the Technical University in Vienna is also convinced of the value of the ISOTEC system, after scientific testing:
“In my research and in the practical tests carried out, the best results with regard to creating moisture barriers were always shown by paraffin treatment of construction materials.”
The scientific and technical workgroup for the preservation of buildings and historic monuments (Wissenschaftlich-Technische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Bauwerkserhaltung und Denkmalpflege e.V.) has also certified its effectiveness. In addition, the federal institute for materials research and testing (Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung) has certified 100% effectiveness of the ISOTEC system, no matter the dampness ratio (level of moisture in a construction material).
