ISOTEC crack filling by injection

Water-carrying cracks in concrete building components are sealed by ISOTEC’s crack filling by injection (cracks occur naturally in concrete building components). The crack is sealed by the injection (insertion of liquid waterproofing substances into the construction material) of special resin - moisture can no longer penetrate to the interior of the building.

The problem: cracks in concrete building components

Water-carrying cracks in concrete building components can, in the long term, lead to undesirable odours, a bad room climate, or even mould attack in interior rooms, which endangers your health.

Setting the drill channels
Setting the drill channels

1. Setting the drill channels

The surface is cleaned. Then channels are drilled at a 45° angle along the crack on both sides. The holes are drilled such that they alternate at a certain distance from the crack. This ensures that they are certain to cross the crack.

Masking the crack

2. Masking the crack and inserting the pressure injectors

If the crack is more than a certain width, it must be sealed with a plugging material. Then the drill channels are cleaned with pressurised air, and the pressure injectors are inserted into the drill holes.

3. Injection of the ISOTEC special resin

Under pressure, the liquid ISOTEC special resin is injected via the pressure injectors into the concrete wall. The resin fills the crack completely and hardens to seal the crack permanently. No more moisture can penetrate it. The plugging and the pressure injectors are then removed and the drill holes sealed properly.

Permanently sealed!

The ISOTEC crack filling by injection (cracks form naturally in concrete building components) is done using a special polyurethane resin which is pressurised as it is pushed into the crack, and then hardens. This means the crack is filled and sealed precisely and flexibly. Because the drill channels are arranged in a 45° angle, the entire depth of the crack is filled with the resin and thus waterproof.

No chance for moisture

The injection of the very fluid ISOTEC special resin is done with a high pressure pump. The pressure in the wall can reach up to 10 bar, so as to attain complete sealing. We place particularly high importance on the deployment of qualified employees to carry out the ISOTEC crack filling by injection. Only exact knowledge of the materials and how to process them will ensure that cracks in concrete walls can be sealed permanently.

At ISOTEC we only use systems that are proven to fulfil the strictest requirements. This applies to the materials used, and also the machine technology used to process the construction materials. The special resin for crack filling by injection has received the test seal from the Material Testing Bureau in Braunschweig.
